  • X Lift Turns a Business Website Into a Ready-to-Review Ad Campaign

X has a new pitch for businesses that have never advertised on the platform: bring a website address, and let the AI handle the setup. X Lift, unveiled at Advertising Week New York on October 6, 2026, is an AI-powered tool in X Ads Manager that turns a business URL into a set of ad options in a few clicks, then builds much of the campaign around them.

Here is how it works. An advertiser enters a destination website and a goal, and X Lift analyzes the site before generating a range of advertising options, including written copy and images. The advertiser picks the options they like, and the system assembles the rest of the campaign, including audience targeting. The human steps that remain are the important ones: setting the budget, reviewing the draft campaign, and deciding whether to launch it.

The tool is aimed squarely at newcomers. X describes its design around three pillars — speed, scale and intelligence — and says the point is to cut the manual work that campaign setup usually involves. Mohit Bhatia, X's lead engineer for advertising products, presented X Lift on a panel at Advertising Week New York as the company's first major product to bring those three principles together in one place. For a small business with no ad team, that pitch is easy to understand: the blank campaign form, not the budget, is often what stops a first ad from ever running.

The launch also fits a pattern. In April 2026, X began a phased rollout of a rebuilt, AI-powered advertising platform, and X Lift extends that rebuild from targeting and optimization into campaign creation itself. The company says the timing reflects real momentum on the self-serve side: in its announcement, X reported that the number of active self-serve advertisers grew 50 percent in the third quarter of 2026 compared with the same quarter a year earlier. Meta used the same Advertising Week stage to show off its own expanded AI tools for brands, underlining how completely automated campaign building has become the industry's shared direction.

For everyday X users, the practical effect may be more small and mid-sized businesses showing up in timelines as advertisers for the first time. For those businesses, the sensible advice is to treat X Lift as a fast first draft rather than a finished strategy: generated copy and images are only as strong as the website they were drawn from, and targeting choices deserve the same review as the budget. Automation lowers the barrier to starting. Judgment still decides whether the campaign was worth running.
